Architectural Intelligence Group (AIG) is an open information exchange community platform that shares the latest research on artificial intelligence in architectural design. Team members can obtain information shared within the group on the platform and publish their own papers.

With the rapid development of Artificial Intelligence, the applications of machine learning, especially based on the neural network, grow as if in the spring after the rain. Architecture, the very end application of technology, finally joins the family of AI, architectural researchers are passionate to apply or develop different kinds of neural networks in solving design problems. There is no need for more words to emphasize that machine learning has become a new and growing field in architectural design. As long as there is data, machine learning can be used to find the laws and rules behind it, and further produce similar data according to the learning.

However, besides the techniques, under the power of AI, discussions are proposed, such as “Can AI replace human and become a new architect?” and “If yes, what will be the future for human architect?” Through the information sharing of the applications of machine learning in architectural design, AIG discusses a future that, is it possible that the computer may not only be an assistant, but also be a decision maker to do creative jobs, and finally replace mental workers, like architects? So nowadays, with the rapid improvement of AI technology, our architects should think about our own positions, find new values and breakthrough points, and defense ourselves from the incoming impact. Future, humans, architects, will be the issues we need to discuss.
